Dr Lisa Chimes – Veterinary Ambassador

The Animal Poisons Helpline is thrilled to announce Dr Lisa Chimes, an emergency veterinarian and media personality, as our Veterinary Ambassador.
You may know Dr Lisa Chimes from her many years on television on well-known shows Bondi Vet and Dr Lisa to the Rescue, as well as from her popular brand DOG by Dr Lisa. We are so honoured to have Dr Lisa help us grow awareness for our life-saving service and look forward to her using her passion for teaching in our pet poison prevention initiatives.
Here are some words from Dr Lisa:
“Finally there is an Australian poisons information helpline dedicated to pets! As an emergency veterinarian, I manage poisoned pets on a regular basis and know that time is of the essence for a positive outcome. The Animal Poisons Helpline is such a useful resource for pet owners that enables them to access fast and reliable information if their pet has been poisoned.
Not only does it help owners easily identify a poison risk and provide first aid advice, the Helpline is also dedicated to educating the pet-loving community about poisons in an effort to prevent our furry loved ones from being exposed to them.
I am proud to be the Veterinary Ambassador for the Australian Animal Poisons Helpline charity. The Helpline offers a unique and life-saving service to the pet community and is free to all pet owners. It is the only veterinary poisons information service in the world to offer its expertise free to the public.
Keeping the Helpline free through donations and sponsorship is critical so that no pet should suffer or die of poisoning. I encourage you to support your Helpline, so that the service is available for you and your pet when you most need it.”
