Antihistamines

Antihistamines are commonly used in both human and veterinary medicine for allergies, hay fever and skin rashes. Examples include dexchlorpheniramine, diphenhydramine, promethazine, loratadine and cetirizine. When accidentally ingested by dogs and cats, antihistamine poisoning can result in sedation, agitation, seizures and even death.
